Introduced by the government to help moderate-income earners pursue homeownership, the Finance Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP) is a grant welcomed by many. Use FLISP to cover a shortfall after signing your OTP, and let FirstStep Housing simplify the application and approval process. If you are ready to own your first home and meet the FLISP qualifying criteria, we are here to help you along the way!

What You Need to Know
Before taking the important step of applying for FLISP, consider the qualifying criteria. This housing subsidy is aimed at the GAP market of low to middle-income earners. You can only apply if you have never owned a home and have never received a housing grant before. Eligibility is also limited to South African individuals aged 18 or older, who are either married, living with their partner, or single with dependants.
Another important condition is that your total household income must fall between R3,500 pm and R22,000 pm. This is what is considered SA’s GAP market of individuals who earn too much to benefit from RDP Housing but too little to qualify for a traditional bank loan.
